Politeknik Enjinering Indorama (PEI) held an online meeting with parents of the student Batch 2018/2019 and Batch 2019/2020 on July 13, 2020. This meeting discussed about the conditions and process of education that was implemented during pandemic Covid-19. The discussion began with a greeting from the Head of Student Affairs, Mrs. Widya Andayani Rahayu, S. Pd., M. Pd, and a welcoming speech from PEI Director, Mr. Dr.Ir Afzeri, M. Eng and the exposure of online learning by Deputy Director of Academic, Mr. Widodo S.T., M.T.

Mr. Afzeri said that in a successful online learning process at home, PEI was committed to making various efforts to provide prepay subsidies to students. In addition, PEI also prepared of better e-learning tools in the form of the use of LMS Moodle and Online conference media as well as interactive lecturers who are more active in guiding students to the quality of learning. Some of the evaluation results from online learning that has been conducted, students can follow it well and more interactive with the lecturers during the learning process.

Mr. Widodo conveyed several matters relating to the preparation and policy at PEI during the Covid-19 period. Online learning will be implemented until the conditions are safe and there is no increasing of new cases.

In the debriefing session, the parents showed enthusiasm and supported a learning program that applied by Politeknik Enjinering Indorama. The Parents also provided some advice on better learning process such PEI should give the lecture schedule in order to monitor their children’s activities. In addition, the parents also suggested that the implementation of the practical remains implemented when the Covid-19 has zero cases. Parents were also very enthusiastic with the overseas Internship Students and hope this program can be extended after the pandemic ended. The PEI management team also explained that the Internship in overseas remains a PEI program as we  had sent the two PEI students doing the internship in Germany for 3 months at the beginning of 2020. Some parents of students also suggest these online meeting regularly held.
